Dr. Prof. Caterina Ambrosi Zaiontz
Dr Caterina Zaiontz PhD, holds a degree in “Clinical Psychology”, with a thesis entitled “Schizophrenic Disorders” (Chestnut Lodge Hospital, Rockville, Maryland/USA), and completed her PhD at the School of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy of Adults.
She was formerly a Professor of Applied Linguistics at the University College London (UK).
For many years Dr Zaiontz has been a Professor of Psychopathology, specializing in the instruction of the Bio-Psycho-Social Model and of Transcultural Psychology at IES (Institute of International Education of Students, USA c/o Universita’ Cattolica of Milan).
She is a Member of the Board of Directors at the Post-Graduate School of Specialization of Transcultural Psychotherapy (Fondazione Cecchini Pace, Milan, Italy) and a Professor of Transcultural Psychotherapy at the same institute.
In 1996 she co-founded the Venosta International Studio of Mental Health ®, an international clinical practice in Milan, together with Dr. Anna Arduini MD.
She is licensed with the Italian Psychological Association as a Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist.
She is also licensed as a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Association and has obtained the Full Membership status in the Teachers and Researchers Division of the British Psychological Association (UK).
In 2010 she received the prestigious international award “Faculty Innovation Award” by the Academic Committee of Board and Consortium University members of IES Abroad at the Annual Conference in Chicago for IES University Lecturers worldwide.
She has also done significant research and presented at numerous international congresses and symposia.
Since 2001 she has been collaborating with ISM (International School of Milan), implementing programs of Primary and Secondary Prevention of Psychological discomfort within the school setting.
